Review: Love Venus R Doll

In my search for Masturbatory Heaven, love dolls were not even considered. The prospect of  having to inflate a plastic doll with pointy breasts and cartoonish face simply didn't rock my boat. They were good for bachelor parties, frat houses, and practical jokes, but I was not interested in sharing an intimate moment with any.

My thoughts about sex dolls changed completely when I saw a Real Doll for the first time: they looked like real women, weighted like one and they were real size with real proportions. The only problem - they cost a freaking fortune ($5,000 and above), and are kind of difficult to put away. Then, I discovered the always horny and always creepy Japanese sex scene and they had their own solution: Love Pillows.

Among the ones available in the USA there was the Love Venus torso. It seemed to be the perfect alternative, but I found creepy to fuck a beheaded torso. I held buying one until the Venus R version was available in the USA - the same torso with arms (no hands), thighs, and a head. After using it for the past three weeks, I am ready to write a review.

First Impressions
When I received the Love Venus R back on early January, I was kind of depressed because the box looked smaller than I expected. Removing the doll from the box, I realized the doll has the same proportions of a petite woman that is about 5 feet tall. Of course, the doll does not have legs, but the proportions make sense. The "skin" feels soft to the touch, almost velvety and as close as real skin as a fabric can be. It doesn't feel like upholstery or a stuffed animal. You can squeeze it and gives a good resistance - much more than a silicone or elastomeric material, but still soft enough for you to love squeezing it.

The proportions of the Love Venus R are realistic (I had a petite GF a few years ago and the Venus R has more of less the same proportions). Bust is a 34 - 36 B, waist is just 23 inches and hips are a good 36 inches. The ass and hips became my favorite characteristic right from the bat - I'm an "ass man", so grabbing this doll's round ass was a pleasure on first contact.

Vaginal Hole
The vaginal hole of the Love Venus R measure`s about 5.5 inches deep by 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches. That means that a Fleshlight or a SIAC are out of the question. Even the Meiki Ozawa or the ZXY are too big for the Love Venus R hole. The only sleeves or onaholes accepted by this doll are the ones measuring between 5x3x2 inches by 6x3x3 inches, such like the 17 Evo, the Innocent Sister, most toys from Toys Heart, and the ones from the Meiki Clones Series. Inserting any of the onaholes accepted into the hole changes the sensations you feel, and most important, avoids you squeezing the sleeve and your penis - so it is a good way to avoid the dreaded Death Grip Syndrome or DGS. It is important to wrap the base of the onahole with plastic and either paper towel or something else to keep the hole clean and avoid the onahole from slipping out of the hole when doing certain positions.



Use
The Love Venus R allows you to practice various sexual positions - missionary, doggie style, sitting and cowgirl. The hole is in the right place and has a good angle - not the perfect one, but much better that the mattress or shoe methods used with the Fleshlights. The arms and thighs take a time to get used to, but once you know what to do with them, they become another turn on as they can be an active role in fantasies. The skin fabric feel real enough and absorbs some heat - so it doesn't feel as if you are fucking / touching a corpse.

I live in NYC, so there are a lot of discount stores in the area where you can get clothes for less than $10. In my case, I buy some of the clothes in these stores and other (specially the underwear) in $5.99 Fashion , an online store where the most expensive item is, guess, $5.99. So far, I had spent like $70 in clothes for the different personas of the Venus R, but it has been a good investment so far.

General Verdict
In general, the Venus R is a good love doll and a great addition to my collection. There are still some positive and some negatives, but overall, I love this overpriced pillow. Some of the positive aspects are:

• Price. Costing between $400 and $600 depending on the seller, it is not a cheap toy, but in the love doll market, it is an affordable sex doll. The closest competitor - Teddy Babes - start at $700 for the basic and going up to $1,200 for the "real life" size ones.
• Realistic dimensions. Something I really like about the Venus R is that its proportions are anatomically correct. Unlike blow up doll with gigantic breasts and ridiculously thin waists, Venus R dimensions can be found in a real life woman and the doll resembles an actual woman shape.
• Highly customizable. The Venus R is a blank slate - you can add wigs, accessories, and clothing and you have a new doll.

Some of the negative...

• Arm positioning. Placing the arms in a natural way is virtually impossible since they don't have any internal skeleton.
• Blank face. Although I like to use my imagination, I would like the Venus R to have a face of its own or at least have the option of accessories to make your own face a-la Ms. Potato Head.
• Where are the nipples? Apparently, in Japan women have no nipples (and I know they have), because the Love Venus R doesn't have any. I don't know if the manufacturer or other site besides ToyDemon have after market nipples, but I want some on my Venus R.

The RP Project #24: Succu-Dry SIAC

I had never been a fan of vampires, but I have to be honest here: If I ever cross paths with a vampire that looks as hot as Kate Beckinsale's Selene does in Underworld, I want to be bitten.

Apparently other folks are more vampire fans, because as soon I began collecting masturbation sleeves in late 2009 one got my attention thanks to the constant mention in blogs, reviews and of course, the user forums: Fleshlight's Succu-Dry SIAC. First Impressions:
Even without opening this SIAC, the label get your attention. Designed by Hydro74, a known designer whose portfolio includes works for Nike, Lucas Arts merchandise, and others, the Succu-Dry label uses the standard gothic colors (black, white, gray, and red) and motifs to surround the face of a female vampire with a drip of blood from her mouth. Once you open the SIAC container, you see one of the iconic looks of this sleeve: the mouth with teeth - and fangs. Unlike the other mouth orifices from ILF, the Succu not only has fangs, but it shows a full set of frontal teeth. if you have other SIACs, you also notice that the color of the sleeve is paler than the regular SIAC.

The pale color and the teeth are the most noticeable visual elements on the exterior, but there is more inside. In most Fleshlights and SIACs you can see through the sleeve - not with the Succu. The Fang texture used in the Succu is full of little pointy nubs that intersect each other. The interior is so packed with these nubs that you cannot see light at the other end of the sleeve when you see through the orifice. The fantasy of oral sex from a vampire plus a texture that looks intimidating promised either an incredible ride or a painful experience... which one was it? Let's go to the review to find out.

Intensity (5 / 5)
The Succu is one of those sleeves that if you learn how to use it properly, it will send you to seventh heaven and keep you there for the duration of the session. The small fangs that fill the canal are soft and malleable, feeling like if someone is licking the head and shaft. No issues using the SIAC. The Succu is virtually silent, so perfect score here.

Hygiene (5 / 5)
Like Fleshlights, SIACs only need to be flushed with water. Be warned that you should use a stronger water flow to clean the Succu due to the fangs closeness.

The Succu Dry dried up nicely after 24 hours left hanging on open air outside the case.

Maintenance (5 / 5)
No special maintenance required so far besides a regular corn starching when stored for a few weeks.

No noticeable tear and wear on this SIAC after a year of use.

There is a reason the Succu Dry had remained in the SIAC catalog although it was a novelty / fantasy item for Halloween: It is good. The unique looks plus great sensations using this sleeve made it an instant favorite in the Fleshlight community. If you want an intense orgasm build, add this sleeve to your collection ASAP. The RP Project #23: Abbey's Secret Ale SIAC

The Abbey's Secret Ale was another of the SIAC v2.0 set sold by ILF during 2009. This SIAC has a mouth orifice and the texture is a scaled down speed bump texture. Unfortunately, this SIAC was retired from the market back in April 2010, but maybe is still around in some retailers. So, lets review it.

First Impressions:
As with all SIACs the first thing that caught your attention was the can form and the label. In this case, Abbey's label was the most stylish (next to the Succu-Dry). When I removed the top cap for the first time, I was impressed on how realistic the small mouth looked (full size FL mouths look like they come from Jabba the Hut). This mouth, on the other hand, looks inviting and sexy. The first impression when inserting a finger inside it was "This thing is tight". And tight it is...

Intensity (5 / 5)
The mini speed bump is one of those "hit or miss" textures; sometimes it feels great, at others it is kind of "so-so". Like the mini Vortex, Abbey didn't do it for me the first few times I used it. Originally, it took me like 5 uses to finally decipher this SIAC. Once I went slowly with it, Abbey's intensity showed up. The bumps made themselves present pressing around my dick with every stroke. During this review, Abbey did her work every single time making me gasping for air after every ejaculation.

Tightness (5/5)
Lets simply summarize: It's a SIAC. The mouth entrance is more flexible than the Lotus Lager or the Spread Eagle, but still the canal is tight.

Realism (2/5)
There is no way the Abbey Secret Ale feels realistic. It feels good, but not close to oral sex.   

Versatility (5/5)

It is a shame that ILF discontinued this SIAC model. It is one of my favorite toys when I want an intense session that forces me to take it easy to last for more than 10 minutes. The closes thing ILF has to the mini Speed Bump is the mini STU available as Grape Jack Soda from their Fleshjack line.

The RP Project #22: TENGA's Flip Hole White

Back in October, I reviewed the Tenga Flip Hole Black  - one of the most stylish sex toys in the market. Today, its sister Tenga Flip Hole White get the same treatment. 

First Impressions:
Like the Black version, the  Tenga Flip Hole White (FHW) doesn't like a sex toy at all. In fact, the FHW looks more as an accessory for your iPod or, if you have a Mac, like any of its accessories. Like the FHB, it has no vaginal entrance, no decals, nothing shouting "pervert" aloud like other sex toys. Again, you can leave the Flip Hole in plain sight and while it will make some people curious, most people will believe you if you tell them it is part of your electronic gadgetry collection.

Unlike the Black, the FHW internal structures are rounder and even feel softer to the touch. Compared to the Black, the FHW is a lot less intimidating when you open the clam design. That said, lets go to the review...

Intensity (5 / 5)
The FHW looks less intimidating than the FHB, but still looks intense - and as the FHB, it delivers. You feel the texture immediately, slightly rough at first, but once the lube begins to work, the material seems to melt around your penis. You better be ready for many different sensations, all of them good. It is less intense than the FHB at first, but pleasure builds fast after a few strokes, requiring some restrain from you if you want the session to last a few minutes. As with the FHB, rotating the FHW provides different types of sensations depending on what part of your penis is more sensitive.  Orgasms are intense, specially if you had been stroking slowly, keeping the pace to a minimum.

Tightness (5/5)
Lets repeat what I wrote about the FHB:
The FHB entrance is tight - really tight. With a mere 4.5 inches girth I had some problems entering this toy and looking at the entrance while doing it, I was often afraid the whole thing was going to rip apart. Once inside it felt just right.
For those who likes suction / extra tightness, the FHB has the now famous three suction discs that allow the user to vary the tightness at either the base, the shaft or the head areas with one hand. Personally, since I liked the regular suction of the toy, I didn't use these discs. Anyhow, it's good to know they are there...  

Change FHW for FHB, and you got my review for the White.

  Although the FHW is not designed to simulate any type of real sex, it can feel at times like a hard blowjob. You need to work around the lube quantity and the air suction levels, but once you obtain them, the reward is adequate. 

Versatility (5/5)
Like the FHB, the FHW worked really well in the hands free sessions, something I didn't expect because it was designed more for stroking. Stroking provides a sharper, more intense session while the hands free method provided slightly longer sessions with a better orgasm build. Since this toy is full of textures, any single variation in angle or position made the FHW a new experience during the sessions making this toy an extremely versatile one.

Again, the FHs have two flaws in this category: setup and noise. Due to its clamshell design, the base has a triple duty as base, lock and drying stand. After lubing it, you need to slide the base in the opposite to lock both halves in position. Doing this while hard and wanting to do it fast so could fuck the toy is almost a torture because I missed the positioning so many times that it was frustrating. Often I was almost limp again after struggling to place the damn thing in place.
The other flaw (from my perspective) is the slurping and farting noises this toy makes while using it. Slurping noises add a little bit to the excitement given that you don't have a roommate or paper thin walls on your room. The farting noises are a totally different issue. I found them to be distracting and even annoying. At least, the noise is almost non noticeable during hands free sessions, but really distracting during stroking sessions.

One of the major selling points of the FH series is that they are supposed easy to clean. Well, I prefer cleaning a Fleshlight over cleaning the FHB and FHW. Regardless of the Fleshlight design, they are pretty easy to clean - just open a faucet with cold or warm water and allow the running water to flush the interior. With the FH series, you open the toy, put it under the faucet... and run your fingers through it to clean your spunk. The FHW is easier to clean than the FHB thanks to its rounded structures, but still semen stays trapped between them - specially the ending orbs. Running water alone can't clean it effectively, so I ended doing some scrubbing with my fingers to remove all the semen from it. With 95% of my Fleshies I don't have to scoop my fluids - a big plus.

Drying (4/5)
The FH series design allows for fast and easy drying. Surprisingly, the material dries pretty quickly considering the maze of structures inside it. The only drawback is that while cleaning some water can get trapped between the silicone and the plastic case, requiring the user to be careful before storing to avoid mold.

No special maintenance required so far.

Tear and wear (4/5)
When you use a brand new FH, you will notice some tear at the entrance. Since I had the FHW since last summer, I worry more about wear now than tearing (the FH series is designed to be enjoyable for around 50 sessions, although many users have squeezed three and even four times more sessions). After the 5 use run, I found some minor tears on the entrance and some wear on the discs areas, but no major effect noticed on the experience.

All aspects considered, the FHW is a good toy investment given that your penis is not too thick. If you have a girth above 5.5 inches, prepare for a tight ride and some major wear and tear on the toy's entrance and body.

TENGA products are available at various resellers, but I would recommend to buy your Japanese toys from Toy Demon. I buy my Asian toys from them and their service is excellent.

The RP Project #21: Fleshlight Super Tight (ICE Stealth and Mouth Pink)

First Impressions:
Let's be clear about this one: I have two of these sleeves. I first bought the ICE Stealth and got to love the texture. Since ILF discontinued the Ice Series (now its just the ICE Crystal), I decided to buy a pink ST in December to use the ICE with the girlfriend. The pink one has a mouth orifice (the regular, Jabba the Hut mouth), but it feels great anyway.
Now, the Super Tight texture is basically a tighter Original - a smooth texture with half the diameter of the Original. That helps to place a little bit more material around your cock and snug the bastard a little bit better than the Original.

Intensity (3 / 5)
Like the Original, the Super Tight (ST from now on), gives a warm feedback on your cock when you penetrate it. The sleeve is not intense, it is pleasurable. It welcomes you and caress your cock constantly, allowing you to build up a good and satisfactory orgasm. Great for a long ride.

The Super Tight is one of those sleeves that can be boring if you are looking for intense, fast orgasm. Resolutions for 2011
